THE SPORTS CAREER
To be successful in sport, a horse must have qualities such as reliability, courage, good health and trust in the rider. Akhal-Teke horses are naturally endowed with these qualities, making them ideal horses for sport.
Successful breeding of sport horses requires a precise focus on the respective disposition of the horse for dressage, jumping, eventing or endurance racing. In the selection, it is imperative that all existing trait areas are taken into account and individually evaluated.
An important goal during the preceding intensive training phase is therefore to strategically work out the respective disposition focal points of the horses in order to subsequently be able to promote them - according to their sporting talents.
Since the demands placed on the horse in the various sports differ considerably, we can only recognise and effectively support the respective strengths of the horses through early selection. Maximum success in sport horse breeding is the result!
In addition, the horses can gain practical experience in their sport and repeatedly face the competitive situation at sporting events that we continuously organise. Of course, we will also present the horses at sporting events organised by other organisers. In addition to the experience gained - through regular participation in sporting events in front of an audience - the level of awareness of the Achal-Tekkiner is also successively promoted. The focus of these events is therefore primarily on the presentation of the Achal-Tekkiner breed.

The Akhal-Teke has also proven himself in show jumping. Last but not least, Akhal-Teke are almost always characterized by an above-average jumping ability.
The high jump record of the Akhal-Teke stallion POLIGON stands at 2.25 meters and was later improved to 2.40 m in a power jump by another Akhal-Teke.

HORSE RACING
The Akhal-Teke horse has amazing stamina and this was proved in an endurance ride in 1935 where Anglo-Teke, Yomud and Akhal-Teke horses were ridden 2,600 miles from Ashkhabad to Moscow over 84 days. The ride included 3 days traveling 215 miles across the Kara Kum desert without water with the purebred Akhal-Teke horses arrived in Moscow in significantly better condition than the other horses.

Like the Akhal-Teke, polo has a long history and tradition. And what is hardly known: the first polo tournaments were played with Akhal-Teke players. His stamina, speed, strong nerves and loyalty have qualified the Akhal-Teke as the perfect polo horse.
